Bridge strikes continue to cause serious disruption, cost and regulatory scrutiny. In 2020/21 alone there were 1,624 incidents on UK rail infrastructure.
The Office of the Traffic Commissioner expects operators and drivers to treat this issue seriously. Failure to do so can lead to public inquiry, licence curtailment or loss.
This half-day course gets straight to the point: how and why bridge strikes happen, from vehicle height miscalculations and poor route planning to overlooked signage and compliance gaps. You’ll leave with practical controls you can put in place immediately to reduce risk and protect your operation.
