DVSA Set New tax rates for electric, zero and low emission vehicles

From 1 April 2025, electric, zero and nil-rate low emission vehicles will be subject to new vehicle tax rates.

These types of vehicles have always had to be taxed before being used on the road, but previously there was nothing to pay. From 1 April, a charge will apply to both new and existing vehicles. The amount keepers will need to pay will depend on the type of vehicle and when it was registered.

Full information on the changes can be found on GOV.UK.
