UPDATE FOLLOWING CHANGES TO COVID-19 RESTRICTION FOR VEHICLE OPERATORS

From the 19th July 2021 there were changes to the COVID-19 restrictions.

Following the changes to the COVID-19 restrictions announced by the developed administrations in Scotland and Wales. The Current safety measures we have in place for our vehicle testing and enforcement services will remain the same.

The DVSA will continue to work with those administrations and will update if there are any changes.

Core services have been allowed to operate safely during the pandemic following the standard operating procedures.

The following will apply to our testing enforcement services across England.

FACE COVERINGS 

  • DVSA colleagues will still wear a face mask
  • Drivers will be asked to exit their cab when they have cab inspections
  • If working in an enclosed or shared space DVSA colleagues and customers are asked to wear a face mask.

All DVSA colleagues are expected to follow the rules of any site they are working in.

SOCIAL DISTANCING 

Common sense is to be used by the DVSA colleagues and to take care in situations that could result in over crowding.

CONTINUED MEASURES 

  • Vehicle ventilation
  • Handwashing & Santising ( especially when handling documents)
  • Customers presenting vehicles which are clean

Please remember to continue to keep the vehicles clean when they are presented for testing. Ensure all surfaces have been wiped down beforehand.

THIS WILL HELP STOP THE SPREAD OF THE VIRUS.
