REMOVING ROADWORTHINESS PROHIBITIONS

Last year the DVSA introduced a remote process for the removal of prohibitions for roadworthiness.

As of the begining of June 2021 the remote removal process will end.

as of the 1st June 20201 any Faults for PSV’s that are not cleared at hte roadside will be referred for a DVSA prohibition removal inspection at an ATF.

  • Vehicles will be referred for a partial inspection if they have an annual test certificate less than 6 months old and a removal notice will be issued.
  • If the vehicle is being operated with a certificate of temporary exemption the vehicle will be referred for a full removal inspection.

New certificates will be issued when the vehicle achieves a pass result.

Any prohibitions given at the roadside by a police officer will be removed through the usual process of a DVSA inspection at the ATF.
