Changes to the register of LGV instructors

The DVSA voluntary register of large goods vehicle (LGV) instructors will close on 31 December 2016.

It will be replaced by the new national register of LGV instructors, which launches on 2 January 2017.

DVSA has worked closely with the training industry and trade associations to make sure that the benefits of a register continue, but that the responsibility for running it transfers to the industry.

It will allow DVSA to focus on keeping waiting times for LGV tests at the current low level.

Existing DVSA registered instructors

Your registration with DVSA will expire on 31 December 2016. You’ll be able to transfer your registration to new register free of charge.

You’ll get a refund from DVSA for any time left to run on your existing registration. You’ll get the refund by the end of January 2017.
