What the IRTEC Inspection Technician Accreditation Is

The IRTEC Inspection Technician accreditation assesses a technician’s ability to carry out effective vehicle inspections. It confirms that you can identify defects, understand inspection procedures, and maintain accurate records that meet DVSA and Operator Licence expectations.

Candidates must have either at least three years of relevant industry experience (e.g. fitter, mechanic, inspector), or an NVQ Level 3 or higher plus one year of industry experience.
