The DVSA have made some changes to the Guide to Maintaining Roadworthiness.
The guide outlines the regulations, requirements and industry best practice for maintaining your commercial vehicles – including daily checks, inspections, maintenance and record keeping.
What the changes include
The updates to the GTMR include:
A reminder of requirements for brake testing
Each safety inspection must include a brake performance assessment (BPA) or a risk assessment if a laden test is not completed. We sent a message about this requirement as part of the updates in November 2024. This new edition does not change the message on this.
