We have been informed of a number of vehicles presented for annual test and failing due to Tacho Seals not being fitted correctly due to the installation key still being left attached.
This has mainly been witnessed on the seal types as pictured (pictures for display purpose only).
The seals in the vehicle in question were fitted but did not have the anti tamper (installation) tab broken off to prevent any unauthorised tampering of the seal.
When undertaking you PMI or Pre MOT inspections please ensure your team are aware that the tab or torx drive are meant to have been snapped off preventing people tampering further with it.
