Level 1 Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Awareness

The purpose and aim of our 1 day course and these new IMI electric/hybrid vehicle qualifications (VRQs) is to instruct individuals from the retail automotive industry and the public service sector (for example, members of the emergency services, who may attend an accident involving an electric/hybrid vehicle) in the maintenance, service, and/or handling of electric/hybrid vehicles.

These qualifications have been developed by IMI in conjunction with electric/hybrid vehicle manufacturers, component suppliers and the IMI Sector Skills Council.  They are the first qualifications of their kind to address electric/hybrid vehicle (high voltage) technology.  The qualifications are essential to ensure the health and safety of individuals working with electric vehicles.

This unit is designed for those people who may encounter electric/hybrid (all variations) vehicles and require safety awareness.

It is suitable for technicians and non-technical people such as managers, valeters, parts, sales and after sales, event staff, vehicle recovery personnel, vehicle dismantlers, vehicle damage assessors and electric/hybrid professional vehicle drivers. It contains the knowledge of the dangers surrounding electric/hybrid vehicles (all variations) and the precautions to avoid potential injury.
